"Can I design you a website...?"
Yes of course I can design you a great website. However, if you're really serious about having a website built then be prepared to do just a little reading! I've really tried to keep this page as informative as possible and without the use of fancy graphics or pictures. After all, it's the content that Google and other search engines love to get their spiders crawling through and the same will apply to your website. (Don't worry; we can add as many relevant images you like for your website!)
Let's cut to the chase! Cost is on everyone's mind and the first question I'm always asked is...
"How much will my website cost?"
If any website designer starts talking to you about pricing before understanding your requirements, or more importantly, if their eyes glaze over with £££, €€€ or $$$ signs and they don't bother to ask you "What do you want your website to do for you or your business?" then my suggestion would be to Run... run... and run...!
Please bear in mind that the prices below are an estimate. Everyone's requirements for a website are different and only after a free consultation will you truly get an idea of what costs are involved in building and maintaining a website.

2. Organic Growth Website with SEO
3. Pay Per Click Website with SEO
4. Re-designing your Existing Website
1. Self-Promoting from £199
A self-promoting website is where YOU personally promote your website address. I.e. You tell your friends, family and potential customers/clients about your website e.g.: www.mywebsite.com or you can place a small advert in magazines, papers or leaflets.
These websites are great for small local business or even personal websites and with a little clever tweaking of your HTML code, I can SEO your website to target your chosen audience and with the addition of social media such as Facebook and Twitter, it can help you target your audience to find your website.
I can design and build you a three page website, including SEO for your local area or wherever you want to target your customers with no monthly maintenance fees; these websites cost from as little as £199.
Go back to the list2. Organic Growth from £599
You may have heard people using the phrase "Organic Search Engine Listings", I'll explain this in a very simple way. When you have your website built, you need to SEO - Search Engine Optimise your website so your listing position in search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing is within the top 10 search results or certainly on page 2. This however takes time, in some cases 6 or 8 months before you start to see any people visiting your website.
Implementing SEO must be seen as a long term goal to get your website listed on page one of Google's search engine, if you really want to make an impact and start to get instant hits to your website, then consider combining SEO and a Pay Per Click campaign using Google Ad Words or Facebook.
There are additional costs to consider when it comes to creating a website with the implementation of SEO on a monthly basis. Generally, the cost to make a 5 page website would start from £599. The cost to SEO your website to ensure it maintains a high listing would normally start from £199 per month.
3. Pay Per Click from £599
Pay Per Click is a very fast way to get people to find your website. You only pay when someone clicks on your advertisement displaying your website on the search engine listings. These are displayed on the top of the organic listings and to the right of the organic listings in Google.
This is a great way of getting people to your website within a few hours of placing your advertisement. If you're looking for instant results, this is the way to go for you. Please remember this can be expensive, but the great thing is, you can control how much you spend with a daily budget.
The cost to build a website with 5 pages starts from £599 and to maintain a Pay Per Click website generally starts from £49 per month. This cost is to ensure you maintain a high conversion rate and to monitor how well your Pay Per Click campaign is doing. i.e. we monitor the costs for this campaign and ensure you get what you pay for!
Go back to the list4. Re-designing Your Existing Website
This is a popular request from a lot of my clients. Many designers claim to be able to re-design a website and I don't dismiss their claim at all.
There are two types of re-designs to cover:
a. Changing the visuals of a website
This includes the layout, logo, colour schemes and whether your old website was built using a table layout or even without CSS! (Cascading Style Sheets, don't worry, its better I explain this to you than write about it.)
This is generally a straight forward project to complete, the only thing you'll have to worry about is, what your new colour scheme and logo is going to look like!
b. Complete re-design and replacing content
This type of re-design needs a lot more planning in advance prior to any changes you want to make to your website and here's why…
You've had your website online for 5 years and you've got a steady flow of customers or even followers. What a lot of designers forget is, there is a reason why you have a steady flow of visitors. It's because your website has been search engine optimised, meaning when people search for your products or services they can find you.
The biggest mistake designers make after a complete re-design of your website is that they forget to do an analysis of the content that was actually on your website prior to your website re-design!
Unfortunately I can't give you a price for a re-design or a complete re-vamp until I look at your website.
If you're interested in a re-design, send me your website address by e-mail or using my contact form and don't forget to tell me what changes you're looking for. Following a 'rummage' through your website, I'll be happy to get back to with a price.
What to do next...?
The best thing to do now is contact me by e-mail or by using my contact form to set up a telephone meeting. I will happily talk you through in detail about building your website and perhaps we can talk about creating a visual draft for you too. This draft will help you visualise your website and help me create a look that meets your requirements according to you or your business.
If you need some advice about anything to do with website design, drop me an e-mail, I don't charge for advice and it would be nice to talk to someone human rather than my computer screen! Don't forget to take a look at some of my work on my portfolio page.
Go to the very top!
